About Me | Wayne | Narberth, PA

Michele Iaia is a licensed clinical social worker, Board Certified Diplomatecertified marriage & family therapist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy.  I maintain a private practice in Wayne and Narberth, PA.

With over 15 years experience as a clinical social worker, I specialize in individual growth and family healing. A graduate of The Bryn Mawr School of Social Work and Social Research, and The Family Institute of Philadelphia, I received certification as a Marriage & Family Therapist. I help clients with parenting, relationship healing and divorce recovery.  Together, we examine family of origin influences that become the template for present and future relationships.  As an Employee Assistance Provider/consultant to national corporations, I counsel managers and employees on work place issues.  We uncover conflicts core to all interactions and work to resolve them.

If you are impeded by mental blocks, have performance or test anxiety, I integrate strategies that optimize focus and concentration. Success is achieved through a variety of interventions:  Gestalt, EMDR, mindful meditation and visualization.

In addition to being a therapist, I have presented to general audiences on such topics as:  Transforming Women from Worriers to Warriors, Media's Sexualization of Young Girls, Discovering the Goddess Within, Self Esteem, Road Rage, Cheating: The Gender Gap, The Five Stages of Love.

As an interactive, solution-focused therapist, my therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal and professional challenges. Drawing upon different therapy models, I integrate theory and practice to offer a highly personalized approach specific to the needs of each client and, when appropriate, their significant others and families.  With compassion, understanding and humor, we work together to help you build on your strengths, achieve your goals, and attain the relationship harmony you seek.
